Ajman University Upgrades its Diploma of Education

As part of the reform and development program adopted by Ajman University of Science & Technology, the College of Education & Basic Sciences has upgraded its professional diploma in education program to better serve the needs of the local market. Several new courses such as graphic design, fine arts and information systems have been integrated in the updated version of the diploma. This amendment was met with increased applications in both Ajman and Fujairah campuses which have accepted this semester 213 students into the program.

According to Prof. Ibrahim Kerfal, dean of the college, the program is design to train bachelor's holders in a given concentration who want to join the teaching profession, as well as developing the skills of working teachers and train them pedagogically. The goals and outcomes of the program were made in line with the mission and objectives of Ajman University, set by Dr. Saeed Abdullah Salman, President of the University, which consists in providing the job market with competent graduates capable of making use of new technologies and applying them in all fields.

Currently the college of education is contemplating launching new programs namely a master's in Arabic language, a master's in teaching methods of Arabic language, master's in Islamic studies, a master's in teaching methods of Islamic studies, and a professional diploma for holders of educational qualifications.
